Hi Guys,
I have been debating on going public with this. I do not want anyone to think that I am losing interest or do not want to make a run for the Championship. Actually the opposite is the case!
I am having some issues with my diabetes and problems with my legs and feet. I will not go into great detail and I am sure nobody wants the details, but the racing (operating the pedals) is aggravating my issues.
Starting about a month ago, there was some pain, but it was more a soreness and just a little aggravating. After a race this past Monday Night, it got much much worse. I limped around for 3 days, hardly able to walk at all on Tuesday.
I have decided to limit my racing in other Leagues and to limit my practice time, in hopes that some healing will take place and I can compete at a high level later in the chase.
If you guys notice me riding around and not really pushing it or retiring early ( very uncharacteristic for me), I want you guys to know why. It is definitely not that I do not want to race, but more of a desire not to continue causing issues in the races and an attempt for some healing.
Regardless of the outcome of this, I have had a great year and enjoyed the 2014 Season; racing with you guys!
Don't count me out, yet! LOL
Seriously, Best Wishes to all of you guys in the Chase and hopefully I can participate in the battle with you guys for the Championship!

Thanks for letting us know Phil. I know it goes against your competitive nature, as it would most of us. I don't have diabetes, but I know I have to limit practice sometimes cause my foot gets numb and tingly.
I hope it gets better for you.

I know we talked about it the other night, but did you look into that thing I mentioned, I bet it would help a ton, just a thought.

10-4 I do not have one yet, but definitely hoping to get one soon.
Thanks

Thanks Mike and Marc. It is definitely going to be tough, not to get up on the wheel and race hard.

Phil we all hope you get better and are able to do what you enjoy doing. I know I would certainly miss running door to door with you fighting for a win on any night.
