General Discussion / Website Registrations
« on: March 06, 2015, 01:22:31 PM »
We  ask that all new registrations to the website provide a real name.  The preference would be the #_First Name_Last Name format for the username.

This will help me weed-out the spam registrations and ensure that the real registrations are not deleted by accident!

Thank You,

HDSR Administration

If you guys can meet me on Teamspeak, I will walk you through fix and get you missing updates.  You can also download the 2014 full install from SCE site, then the only updates needed are the ones Mod Manager will install for you.  Just let me know what works best for you guys.

Thanks,
Phillip

Jeff,

I am wondering if you may have missed an update prior to the October updates in your 2014 install.  Please check to see if you have updates 001-010 dated 2014 and update 001 for 2015 in your updates folder of SCE.  If you are missing any, please respond with which ones are not present.

Thanks

General Discussion / Very Kool Trophy and the Girls!
« on: December 07, 2014, 12:21:08 PM »
A few weeks back, I received a trophy for the Dennis Kelly Memorial Series Championship at No Fear Racing.  It is very special to me with respect to a memorial for a very good friend!  RIP Dennis!  You are greatly missed!

The trophy itself is awesome.  Thanks to Terry Underwood and Stan Kelly for putting a Memorial Series together for our fallen friend and providing such a nice trophy for the Championship!

Here are a few pics of the Trophy, Me and the girls.  I could not resist showing off the girls in the process.  Just ignore the ugly guy holding the trophy and focus on the trophy and the girls.  I hope everyone will take a second to remember our friend, Dennis.  He was truely a very rare & special person and we were very lucky to have known him!

PS.  Everyone please check out Terry League and join us on Monday Nights at 9PM Eastern for some great racing and great camaraderie.  Teamspeak: 208.77.144.59:9988  & pass=sce2013

After the race tonight, I checked my setup and realized I forgot to put back a setting for race that I was testing in practice.   I did the driver's meeting and just forgot to go back and fix the setting.  I tested this setting and did not like it because of the twitchy steering.   Long story-short, I forgot to put this setting back to a more drivable number and struggled with the twitchy steering all night.   It seemed much worse late in the race with higher speeds and more push drafting.  It especially was a handful when I was being pushed while I was engaged to driver in front of me.

I was also told that my side to side movement while pushing was affecting the driver in front and steering their car to some degree.

I apologize for any issues caused by this screw-up on my part.  I feel like an idiot having such a good setup for the race and something like forgetting to change back a setting; taking me out of contention and unable to work with teammates effectively.   I gave it my best with an ill-handling car!

I was happy to see the setup, that I thought I was running made it to victory lane.  Dang you Joel!  LOL  Congrats Bud!

Sorry Guys,
Phillip Stocks

I am looking at some major changes for next year in the season format, so please let us know your thoughts about 12 race system vs. Chase format.

Thanks

I am working through my issues and already feel better to some degree.  I have a lot on my plate right now and it is not the time to be making decisions about future plans for HDSR.  I am sure that when things calm down in my personal life, the fun factor for Sim Racing will return.

HDSR will continue to provide the open-set venue for SCE, so ignore me on that stuff right now.  LOL  In fact, I may put together a Fun Series for Winter Season, if time permits.  I am nearing the end of 3.5 year project that has me stressed-out.  I should be done in next month or so, then I think things will be much better for me.

I appreciate your understanding!

Another point that I should raise in this discussion is the waved attendance requirement this year.  If we maintained our attendance requirement rule, our Chase eligible contenders in 2014 would be:

Mike Hebb
Tom McKeever
Greg Gerk                                         vs                          16 Drivers in our current Chase 1
Warren Pead
Phillip Stocks
Mike Koon

I bring this up because the attendance requirement would be 21 of 26 regular season races normally, to be chase eligible, and some drivers cannot meet this requirement due to other commitments (jobs , etc.)

We should consider this requirement in this discussion because this would probably drastically change expected attendance during our chase races.

Also, we should take note that even with the current system and 16 drivers eligible for chase, we are averaging 11-12 drivers per race.  This is the same numbers or maybe a little less than attendance achieved with older chase systems or no chase systems run in the past.

Just throwing this out there for consideration....
